ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Thanks to our Reviewers of 2010

Peer review is the critical element of each scientific journal. The Editors of The European Journal of General Practice would like to express their gratitude to all reviewers who have advised us on manuscripts we received in the year 2010. For me it was a pleasure to notice that last year more than 80 colleagues accepted our invitation to review a manuscript. Writing a good review report is time demanding and calls for a teacher's attitude. Thanks to your constructive comments, you have helped many authors to improve their manuscript, and you have helped us in our editorial decision making. Thus, you have contributed to raise the quality of this journal. To acknowledge this work, we have listed your names here. Many thanks to you all!

Thanks to Professor Michael M. Kochen, Göttingen, Germany

I would like to express my warmest gratitude to Michael M. Kochen, who has been Associate Editor for this Journal since 1995. In October 2010 he decided to resign. I have always welcomed his critical contributions to our editorial debates, since I knew they were based on many years of experience and scholarship and were motivated by a strong commitment to the cause of family medicine. Michael deserves many credits for being the backbone of this Journal from the beginning. It was Michael who argued ‘the necessity for a journal, bringing teaching and learning preferably together with research and other scientific data’ (Citation1). During the years that have passed since then, he contributed in many ways to our Journal, not only as associate editor, but also as reviewer and author of papers and editorials. Dear Michael: thanks, take care and goodbye!
