EJGP: European Journal of General Practice

Series of papers on international collaborative studies in Europe

Page 128 | Published online: 18 Apr 2012

One of the aims of The European Journal of General Practice (EJGP) is to foster scientific research in general practice/family medicine (GP/FM) and primary health care (PHC) in Europe. In the last few years, we have seen the European Commission (EC) fund a number of collaborative projects between European countries of outmost relevance for GP/FM and PHC. The EJGP wants to contribute to the dissemination of such outstanding initiatives and announces an occasional series of papers introducing EC funded projects with a focus on GP/FM and PHC. We believe that publication of papers presenting the objectives, programme of work and composition of the research team will be instrumental to generate early awareness on current research on the related topics and will enhance transferability of results at a later stage. Furthermore, we hope that the ‘best practices’ described in this series will inspire other groups to join forces and develop cross-border collaborative initiatives themselves. EJGP will publish the Series in 2012 and 2013.
