Abstract
The present pharmacognostical investigation deals with the macro and microscopical characters of root and stem of Desmodium polycarpum (Poiret) DC, along with fluorescence characteristics of their powders when exposed under ultraviolet light. The powders of root and stem, on exposure to u.v. light show dark brown and brown fluorescence respectively and when mounted in nitrocellulose exhibit green and reddish brown fluorescence respectively.
