Plants of the Republic of Azerbaijan with Potential Medicinal Applications

Abstract

The major types of plant species encountered throughout the world are represented in Azerbaijan. Although the Azerbaijan Republic occupies a small territory which comprises only about 0.5% of the U.S.S.R., it is rich in flora specific to its geographical position. Indeed, some 25% of the U.S.S.R. flora are represented in Azerbaijan. The vernacular names and the districts near where they were collected are presented.
