Language-impaired children's processing of morphology: Preliminary data from three tasks

Pages 31-35 | Published online: 11 Jul 2009

Abstract

Conventional methods of assessing language-impaired children's comprehension and production of grammatical morphology often yield valuable clinical information. However, there are types of morphological ability for which these tasks are unsuitable. In this paper, three new tasks are discussed. It is argued that each is capable of revealing particular types of morphological ability that might be missed using traditional procedures. Preliminary data are presented for illustration purposes.
