Efficacité de l'ADM sur les succes et les couts du diagnostic (Effect of the computer-assisted diagnostic system [ADM] on the success and cost of diagnosis)

Abstract

Taking into account the interest we have in helping physicians arrive at a diagnosis and in choosing the procedures utilized in the computer-assisted diagnostic system (ADM) already described, a study was devised to estimate the efficiency of the system in relation to costs. From 300 patient records, 80 presenting a true diagnostic problem within the framework of the diseases already in computer memory were selected. A comparison was made between the normal procedure, with and without computer help, képing in mind the diagnoses themselves as well as the performance and the cost. Criteria and evaluation methods were elaborated. The results, even though preliminary, are encouraging and justify the continued development of the system.

Compte tenu de l'intérět d'aider les médecins à porter des diagnostics et à choisir les precédés utilisés dans le système ADM déjà décrit, une étude destinée à estimer l'efficacité du système en relation avec les coûts a été réalisé.

Parmi 300 dossiers, 80 posant un véritable problème diagnostique dans le cadre des maladies actuellement en memoire machine ont été sélectionnés. La comparaison a été faite entre la démarche avec et sans ADM, tenant compte des diagnostics posés, des performances et des cou'ts. Dcs critěres et des modes d'évaluation ont été élaborés. Les résultats, bien que préliminaires, sont encourageants et justifient la poursuite du développement du système.
