Abstract
The application of computer technology to medicine has undoubtedly become one of the most attractive topics for research in medicine as well as in engineering. Our statistics show that almost half of the papers presented at medical engineering meetings deal more or less with computer technology. In fact, the computer has now become so indispensable a tool to medical researchers that they are required to adhere to the present-day technical state of the art of computational sophistication in order to present acceptable findings. No one seems to object to this situation.
