Abstract
The absorption of electromagnetic waves by liquid water and biomolecules in the millimeter and submilllmeter wavebands is discussed in terras of the transition from classical interpretation to quantum interpretation as the 1 ram boundary is crossed. Low-frequency electric transport processes in proteins, particularly in the form of Langmuir-Blodgett films, are discussed, and a brief discussion is also given of atmospheric ions, particularly as regards the physics of aqueous surfaces.
