In Vitro and in Vivo Effects of Electromagnetic Fields: Their Possible Role in the Development of New Strategies for Cancer Treatment

Pages 197-203 | Published online: 07 Jul 2009

Abstract

We have studied the effects of low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs) on human lymphocytes since 1978. More recently, we investigated the possibility of using the same PEMF to potentiate the effects of radiation and chemotherapy in mice. The results of these studies provide a rational basis for an attempt to use PEMFs for treatment of some malignancies.
