Abstract
Electrograms of various cortical and subcortical structures and spike activity of cortex neuronal populations were investigated in unanesthetized rabbits prior to, during, and after microwave exposure (wavelength 37.5 cm, power density 40 m W/cm2, exposure time 1 min). The microwaves produced generalized changes in electrical activity of brain structures, the shifts in delta waves being predominant. Alterations of neuronal activity consisted in some increase of the mean values of interspike intervals and pronounced changes of the pattern of pulse flows.
