Effect of Epinephrine on Splenic Congestion When Administered Prior to Sodium Pentobarbital Overdose in Dogs

Abstract

This report demonstrates that the administration of epinephrine, 10 μg/kg, immediately prior to sodium pentobarbital overdose, 100-125 mg/kg, allows for a quick, motionless death with good exsanguination as evident by minimal splenic congestion.
