Regulatory importance of pesticide degradation products from an environmental fate perspective

Abstract

Data defining the fate of a pesticide in the environment is required by the Environmental Protection Agency before registration allowing use of the pesticide in the United States can be approved. Levels of analysis and application rates required in conducting the studies and the relationship between lab and field studies in the regulatory process are discussed with regard to environmental fate studies.
