Abstract

Amoxapine (Ascendin®) is a new tricyclic antidepressant marketed by Lederle Laboratories. Chemically, amoxapine resembles the neuroleptic loxapine, while pharmacologically, amoxapine is similar to imipramine [1]. The following case report describes the clinical presentation and management of an acute amoxapine intoxication.
