Abstract
The Internet or Information Superhighway provides a virtually inexhaustible educational resource. The process of information gathering on the Internet begins with either a website address (see below or with a search engine. There are several free search engines available once connected to the Internet– Yahoo (http://www.yahoo.com) and Alta-Vista (http://www.altavista.com) are two examples. To access these, or any other website, type the address (also known as the Uniform resource Locator or URL) into the appropriate browser location or use the file/open location command on the toolbar. Enter the topic of interest into the search engine and click search. Clicking on any highlighted text within the search results will initiate a connection with the appropriate computer. Add a book mark to any interesting site to simplify your return trip.
