Abstract
Television technology is becoming more reliable and flexible. We are using this flexibility at Charing Cross to develop an approach to television that combines the traditional skills of film making with the obvious advantages of television. We have channelled most of our resources into the area of postproduction, and by doing this, we have moved away from the studio environment. We now record ‘on location’ in the laboratory, the clinic, and the wards, bringing our recordings back to the postproduction room to be pieced together in a way that is more akin to film making than television production.
