Abstract
An ophthalmological slide collection contains a large number of slides but each slide is used infrequently. Consequently the space occupied should be used optimally and this can be achieved by chronological storage without any open interval between the slides. This causes some disadvantages concerning the retrieval of slides, but these are small compared with the advantages. The administration as well as the manner of retrieval of the slides can be suitably controlled by a small and cheap computer connected to a printer. The slides can be mounted with a simple semi-automatic machine.
