High speed photography of bioprosthetic heart valves during testing

Abstract

Throughout the manufacturing process of bioprosthetic heart valves the most vigorous quality control techniques have to be employed to ensure the required standards of durability. During development valves are subjected to ‘Accelerated Fatigue Testing’ which simulates many years of use. High speed photography was used to examine the performance and changing condition of the valves under test.
