Recent developments in Endovid

Pages 113-117 | Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

Endovid is an abbreviation for the technique of immediate video wide-field endothelial cell specular microscopy and quantification. This article reviews the technique of Endovid, as practised in this department, together with some of the recent advances in video endothelial specular microscopes and video image storage technology. Using these techniques it is possible to produce data on endothelial cell shape, size, and population density from a patient's corneal endothelium during a routine clinic attendance.
