Stereoscopic imaging and its role in medical illustration

Pages 66-70 | Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

Stereoscopic imaging is becoming more widespread as developments in computer software and hardware allow for rapid manipulation of electronically gathered medical data, and of computer-generated models. This paper examines the current three-dimensional multimedia scene, evaluates its place in training, and examines stereoscopic imaging and viewing techniques as well as the availability of stereoscopic equipment.
