Abstract

The total length of the Bufo tibetanus mitochondrial genome sequence is 17,405 bp. It consists of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and 1 displacement loop (D-loop). Except for eight tRNAs and nd6 genes, all other mitochondrial genes are encoded on the heavy strand (H strand). Most of the 22 tRNA genes can fold into a typical cloverleaf secondary structure by tRNAscan-SE, except for tRNASer. Molecular data presented here provide a useful toll for helping set the stage for further studies and the molecular evolution of the mitochondrial genome.
