Abstract
Within the past five years, several learned and encyclopedic articles have appeared in the medical press regarding the beneficial effects of chicken soup for the common cold. Similar profound and enthusiastic reports have appeared in the lay press; although the tennis press, and the sugar press and the wine press have been strangely and unusually silent on the extremely important and economically critical issue of chicken soup versus the common cold.
