Pages 71-83 | Published online: 04 Dec 2011

Abstract

This article assesses student pharmacists ' perceptions of the comparative risks associated with eight categories of branded and generic drugs. It specifically addresses the extent to which both risk perception and risk-taking propensity will affect subsequent decisions to recommend one type of drug over another. Data were obtained from 165 subjects. The results indicate significant relationships between selected components of perceived risk and probable recommendations.
