Erythromycin, Ampicillin, Alkalization and Increased Diuresis in Treatment of Human L-Phase Urinary Tract Infections

Pages 75-78 | Published online: 02 Jan 2015

Abstract

The effects of different forms of treatment were studied in 24 patients with pure L-phase infections of the urinary tract. A combined form of treatment with erythromycin, ampicillin, alkalization, and increased diuresis was found superior to treatment with sulfonamides or nitrofurantoin, as the relapses were fewer and occurred later in patients given the combined treatment.
