Demonstration of Antibodies to Measles Virus by Hemolysis-in-Gel (HIG) Test

Pages 15-20 | Published online: 02 Jan 2015

Abstract

By use of the hemolysis-in-gel test antibodies to the hemolysin and hemagglutinin components of measles virus can be detected and quantified. The test detects antibodies of both IgG and IgM class and can be considered as a new simple tool for screening of immunity after vaccination or natural disease as well as for serological diagnosis of recent infections.
