Abstract
Side-effects were studied in 973 soldiers vaccinated with Rift Valley fever virus vaccine. In one group all 506 vaccinees were questioned regarding side-effects; in another group only 194 of 467 vaccinated subjects answered the questionnaire. Slight local and general side-effects were recorded in 6% of the vaccinees. In a few cases moderate or severe events occurred (cardiac arrhythmia, Guillain-Barré syndrome) none of which, however, were proven to be caused by the vaccination.
