Abstract

On a nonselective alternating basis 32 patients with meningococcal meningitis were treated with ampicillin, 15 received it intravenously and 17 intramuscularly. Results indicate that both routes were comparable in their efficacy in the treatment of the disease. No adverse reactions were noted when either route was employed.
