Radiation-induced Specific Locus Mutations in Human Mammary Epithelial Cells

Abstract

A specific locus mutagenesis assay using primary cultures of human mammary epithelial cells has been developed. A mutation frequency at the hypoxanthineguanine phosphoribosyl transferase (HGPRT) locus of approximately 2 &#50 10 &#109 5 mutations per surviving cell per gray of ionizing radiation was estimated in these cells.
