Summary
After a short survey of the sclerodermic process, a case report is given. A 44-year-old man was admitted to hospital with severe polyradiculoneuritis. The clinical picture was also characterised by severe lymph node swelling and papillary edema. The condition was interpreted and treated as lymphogranulomatosis.
2—3 years after the onset of the neuropathy, the patient developed joint symptoms resembling those in rheumatoid arthritis. The combination of all the symptoms and the interpretation of the biopsy, made the diagnosis of dermatomyositis most reasonable.
Autopsy revealed changes compatible with scleroderma and multiple myeolomas. The findings are discussed.
