Summary
Experimental fractionation of rheumatoid serum by means of the new Sephadex materials has been found to provide a rapid and convenient method for separation of rheumatoid factor activity. Best results were obtained when the molarity of serum was increased to 1 M NaCl before the application to the bed material followed by elution with 0.0067 M, pH 5.7 buffer.

Le fractionnement expérimental du sérum de rhumatisme infectieux à l'aide des nouvelles substances Sephadex a donné lieu à la création d'une méthode rapide et commode pour la séparation de l'activité du facteur de rhumatisme infectieux. Les meilleurs résultats furent obtenus lorsque la molarité du sérum fut augmentée à 1 M NaCL avant l'application à la substance de couche suivie d'élution avec 0,0067 M, pH 5,7 comme tampon.
Zusammenfassung
Durch experimentierende Fraktionierung von Rheumatoidserum bei Anwendung der neuen Sephadex-Substanzen wurde eine rasche und geeignete Methode gefunden um die Aktivität des Rheumatoidfaktors zu separieren. Die besten Ergebnisse wurden erzielt, wenn die Molarität des Serums auf 1 M NaCl erhöht wurde bevor es als Lagermaterial angewandt wurde und bei darauf folgender Elution mit 0.0067 M, pH 5.7 Puffer.
