Summary
Rheumatoid arthritis with onset before 25 years of age seems to be a special type of rheumatoid arthritis characterized by good functional capacity inspite of advanced anatomical changes. The gamma-globulin level in serum is, as a rule, normal and the degree of inflammatory activity is slight. The name “arthritis rheumatoides adolescentium” is suggested for this variant of disease.

Le rhumatisme chron. articulaire avec son premier accès avant l'âge de 25 ans semble être un type spécial de polyarthrite caractérisé par une bonne capacité fonctionnelle en dépit d'altérations anatomiques avancées. En règle générale, le niveau de gamma-globuline du sérum est normal et le degré d'activité inflammatoire est faible. La dénomination arthritis rheumatoides adolescentium a été suggérée pour cette variante de la maladie.

Die Polyarthritis mit erstem Anfall vor dem 25. Lebensjahr scheint eine besondere Art von Rheumatoid-Erkrankung zu sein, die durch gute Funktionskapazität trotz vorgeschrittenen anatomischen Veränderungen gekennzeichnet ist. Der Gamma-Globulin-Spiegel im Serum ist in der Regel normal und der Grad von entzündlicher Tätigkeit ist gering. Die Bezeichnung “Arthritis rheumatoides adolescentium” wird für diese Variante der Krankheit vorgeschlagen.
