Method of Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis in Different Countries

Summary

A survey using a questionnaire was made to get information about the methods of treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis by specialists in different countries. The differences between certain countries in choosing non-steroid antirheumatic drugs and the varying impression of rheumatologists in certain countries on new antirheumatic drugs suggests that the methods of treatment may vary in certain races.

The number of rheumatologists who do not use chloroquine and gold therapy is 20 and four respectively, out of 107. The majority of the selected rheumatologists administer gold compounds at a dose of 25—100 mg. per month after the success of gold therapy. Prednisolone and prednisone are still the main corticosteroid hormones used frequently by the specialists.

Cet exposé donne un aperçu d'un questionnaire dans le but de connaître les méthodes de traitement de la polyarthrite chronique évolutive adoptées par les spécialistes dans différents pays. Les différences parmi certaines régions dans le choix de drogues non-stéroïdes antirhumatismales et l'opinion divergente des rhumatologistes parmi les différents pays concernant les nouvelles drogues antirhumatismales suggèrent une variation des méthodes de traitement chez certaines races.

Le nombre des rhumatologistes qui ne prescrivent ni la chloroquine ni la chrysothérapie est de 20 et 4 respectivement parmi 107. La majorité des rhumatologistes administre des composés auriques à une dose mensuelle de 25—100 mg selon le résultat de la chrysothérapie. Le prédnisolone et le prédnisone sont encore les hormones corticostéroïdes principales utilisées fréquemment par les spécialistes.

Diese Abhandlung gibt einen Überblick eines Fragenbogens, um die Behandlungsmethoden von akutem kronischen Gelenkrheumatismus durch Fachärzte in verschiedenen Ländern kennen zu lernen. Die Unterschiede zwischen gewissen Gegenden bei der Wahl von unsteroiden antirheumatischen Medikamenten und verschiedenen Auffassungen der Rheumatologen in gewissen Ländern betreffend neue antirheumatische Medikamente geben Anlass zu der Annahme, dass die Behandlungsmethoden bei verschiedenen Völkern wechseln.

Eine Anzahl von Rheumatologen, die weder Chloroquine noch Goldbehandlung anwenden, beläuft sich auf 20 bzw. 4 von 107 Spezialisten. Die Mehrzahl der ausgewählten Rheumatologen verschreiben Goldverbindungen in Dosen von 25—100 mg monatlich nach erfolgreicher Goldbehandlung.

Prednisolone und Predisone sind noch die wichtigsten corticosteroiden Hormone, welche häufig von den Fachärzten zu Anwendung kommen.
