Acute myocardial infarction after cyanide poisoning

Abstract

Cyanide poisoning is an uncommon emergency in our environment. Cyanide is a powerful cellular toxin. We describe a case of attempted suicide by the voluntary ingestion of cyanide in which acute myocardial infarction occurred during the clinical course. To our knowledge, this has not been described previously.
