, &
Pages 29-34 | Published online: 07 Aug 2010

Abstract

Recent initiatives by the AACSB International— The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) have resulted in the creation of an alternative "experimental" process and a new set of standards to achieve reaffirmation. The experimental accreditation maintenance process is designed to achieve three outcomes: quality, continuous improvement, and better stakeholder management. The new standards were issued during January 2003, ratified on April 25, 2003, and will affect all subsequent AACSB accreditation and affirmation visits. In this article, the authors discuss (a) how these experimental processes and the new standards differ from the previous accreditation process and standards and (b) the implications for business school faculty members.
