Abstract
Surgery for intermittent exotropia does not always result in the desired and expected outcome. Preparation of the patient and patient's parents along with careful evaluation of the classification and size of deviation preoperatively and various maneuvers to manipulate alignment and fusion postoperatively are among strategies available for optimizing surgical results. With these strategies, it might be possible to reduce the rate of re-operation.
