Abstract
The ozone distribution in the 300-, 250-, 200- and 150-mb surfaces was derived for the 3rd and 4th of May, 1963, based on earlier published maps showing the distribution of ozone mixing ratio in isentropic surfaces. Some remarks are also made on potential hazards of ozone to aviation, on the correlation between ozone mixing ratio and absolute potential vorticity and on the complicated “sandwiched” structure of the lower stratosphere in middle latitudes south of the polar front jet stream.
