Abstract

The 34th volume of Tellus is being published this year. During these almost three and a half decades, the geophysical sciences have undergone a remarkable development. The original aims in starting the publication of Tellus, as envisaged by C.-G. Rossby in the late 1940” , were the further development of interdisciplinary research between the different geophysical sciences, and at the same time, the careful application of the fundamental sciences of mathematics, physics and chemistry to studies of our environment. In spite of a limited number of pages per year, a contribution of this kind has been accomplished in the intervening years.DOI: 10.1111/j.2153-3490.1982.tb01810.x
