Die Rolle der Aerosole und der gasförmigen Beimengungen der Luft im Spurenstoffhaushalt der Troposphäre

Abstract

On the basis of measurements of the size of natural aerosols, an outline is given of the importance of aerosols for the budget of impurities in the atmosphere close to the surface of the earth.New results concerning the chemical composition of natural aerosols are reported. These results have been obtained by determining the dispersion of electrons and by direct chemical analyses. Most of the nuclei with a radius less than 1 μ seem to consist of ammonium sulphate while nuclei originating from sea salt in most cases are larger than 1 μ.Furthermore, some consideration is given to the manner by which these substances are brought into precipitation. Finally the distribution of these substances in precipitation at the surface of the earth is given.
