Despite the prevalence of coronary heart disease (CHD) in women, especially postmenopausal women, to date most studies of this condition have been conducted on men. Only recently has it become clear that many gender differences exist in the development, presentation, and management of CHD. Dr Villablanca addresses these differences and stresses the importance of hormone replacement therapy for postmenopausal women.
