Abstract

Millions of patients every year seek medical help for symptoms of urinary tract infection ranging from mild bacteriuria to complicated pyelonephritis. Therefore, it is important for primary care physicians to know the current, most cost-effective strategies for managing these troublesome, often recurrent infections. In this article, Dr Wisinger reviews the most common presentations and the recommended approaches to management.
