Although antibiotics and Immunizations have greatly reduced the Incidence of bronchiectasis, this confounding and difficult-to-treat condition continues to cause substantial morbidity. Clinical features overlap with those of other chronic obstructive lung diseases, and bronchiectasis can easily be mistaken for asthma or pneumonia, leading to years of Inappropriate treatment. In this article, Drs Mysliwiec and Pina present an Illustrative case report and review the pertinent features of this once-deadly condition.
