Graves' disease can cause a baffling variety of symptoms that challenge the diagnostic skills of even the most experienced clinician. In the first part of this two-part article, Drs Felz and Stein discuss distinctive features of this unique disorder and describe patients with memorable “faces” of Graves' disease. Part 2, which focuses on practical diagnostic testing and management of Graves' disease, will appear in the October 15 issue.
