PREVIEW

There are abundant diagnostic possibilities when a patient presents with pain or dysfunction of the hip or knee. To help readers learn to recognize the various disorders, the authors briefly describe and illustrate those that are seen most often in a primary care office. The age of the patient is an important clue to diagnosis, and the authors discuss the disorders chronologically—that is, with increasing age of the patient. They also summarize the latest treatments for each.
