Dyspareunia in women

Breaking the silence is the first step toward treatment

Although painful intercourse can result in great personal conflict and anxiety, only a small minority of women who have dyspareunia raise the issue with their physician. In this article, Drs Canavan and Heckman give simple, practical suggestions that can be used during routine examinations to help patients talk about the subject. Also included is a valuable review of diagnosis and a range of treatment options.
