PREVIEW

Development of complex technology has dramatically changed the role of the radiologist in the past several years. Rather than being confined to a dark room, in front of a view box, the radiologist has emerged as a consultant with greater patient and physician interaction. In fact, the interventional radiologist has assumed the role of the surgeon for many conditions. In this article, Drs Montgomery and Sullivan discuss recent advances, specifically as related to endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms and to radiofrequency ablation for management of malignant hepatic tumors.
