Performance Evaluation of GPR System Using Gaussian Pulse Excitation to Cover Entire Frequency Band of Operation

Pages 148-153 | Published online: 01 Sep 2014

Abstract

A differential Gaussian pulse excitation of a transmitting antenna is applied to investigate GPR system performance using two types of proposed antennae, both, partially covered. The first using dipole antenna and the second using bowtie antenna. A good agreement of the calculated results of different antenna parameters with those achieved by applying a sinusoidal source at the feeding of transmitting antenna was predicted for both the cases.
