The degradation of recreational trails is a common problem in many protected natural areas. Information about the condition of trails in the Gorce National Park (south-central Poland) have been presented in this study. Indicators of trail degradation were recorded during detailed field surveys of 55.1 km of formal trails. A series of maps at a scale 1:42,500 have been developed, with the main emphasis on the trail network. The maps show: (1) width of trails, (2) trail incision, (3) number of braided, informal trails, (4) number of old, abandoned sections, and (5) muddiness. Additionally, information about the amount of use and type of use has been provided. Presented data can be a helpful contribution to a more effective management of the recreational trail network where park managers can assess which trails are the most deteriorated and plan trail rehabilitation.
