Abstract

Non-small cell lung cancer demonstrating expression of Mcl-1, a pro-survival member of the Bcl-2 family. The study of Song et al. demonstrates that knockdown of Mcl-1 in lung cancer cells promotes apoptosis and enhances death from chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Conversely, overexpression of Mcl-1 can protect lung cancer cells from death induced by diverse pro-death signals.
