Arthur T. Benjamin
Arthur T. Benjamin ([email protected]) has taught at Harvey Mudd College since 1989, after earning his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins in mathematical sciences. He has served as editor of Math Horizons and the Spectrum Book Series, has written two books for the MAA, and was a Pólya Lecturer from 2006 to 2008. He is excited that the 2014 theme for Mathematics Awareness Month is “Mathematics, Magic, and Mystery.”
Ethan J. Brown
Ethan J. Brown ([email protected]) is a fourteen-year-old freshman at Phillips Academy Andover in Andover MA. He enjoys soccer, track, mock trial, improvisational comedy, and of course, mathematics. In 2012, he established a new world record by memorizing and reciting 2012 digits of tau (6.283185…) as a fundraiser for his town library. He presents the magic square as the finale of his mental math stage show.
