INTERFACING HYDROTHERMAL AND BIOLOGICAL STUDIES IN WASTE HEAT MANAGEMENT

Pages 13-32 | Published online: 23 Jan 2013

Abstract

The selection of a waste heat management alternative for a steam-electric generating station and the level of sophistication of hydrothermal modelling used in the analysis of the alternative can only be efficient if related to three factors. These are: the stage of the study, the available environmental data, and the level of environmental/biological significance of the water body. The main thrust of this paper is to illustrate a simple methodology for effectively combining these various factors.
