LA SIMULATION DES ECOULEMENTS EN RIVIERE A L’AIDE DE MODELES MATHEMATIQUES

Abstract

The main concepts from which flood routing models are developed are reviewed. These concepts are based on the solution of the complete system of the St-Venant equations, the kinematic wave equation or the equation of continuity. Advantages and disadvantages of each of these flood routing concepts are shown, especially in regard to their ability to simulate various flow conditions with satisfaction, the complexity of the numerical methods needed to solve the equations of the chosen model and the type of data necessary to apply the model.

On passe en revue les grandes lignes des approches dont découlent les modèles mathématiques de propagation des écoulements en rivière. Ces approches sont basées sur la résolution du système complet des équations de Saint-Venant, de l’équation de l’onde cinématique ou de l’équation de continuité. Les avantages et les désavantages de chacune de ces approches sont signalés tant en ce qui regarde la capacité de simuler adéquatement diverses conditions d’écoulement qu’en ce qui concerne la complexité des solutions et le type de données nécessaires.
